  1. I understand Mike’s opinion. Suffusion is a complex and sophisticated meta data manager. The author deserves credit.

However, presenting that string without option to remove is a problem. Many customers do not want that nor do they want any indication of the site builder. The fact that it cannot be removed eliminates Suffusion as a candidate in many professional projects.

  2. I do agree with your comment. It is great theme and better than paid themes out there..but keeping the link or removing is one’s call (I do not see Sayontan has put any restrictions on that)..Donating money is important to show your love for the theme and theme developer..

  3. Hi, I came across this post accidentally. IMHO, anybody that wants to remove this link is a jerk, or maybe just scared of the thought of leaking page rank. Trust me, leaving this link will not diminish your SE rankings.

I am sure Sayontan could charge for this theme if he wanted to, and many people would buy it. Not only is he constantly updating and improving Suffusion, but he spends much time every night answering questions on the support forum, all for FREE.

I know people who have spent thousands of dollars on websites and the company still leaves their business card in the footer. Sayontan is a class act and I think the least someone could do is leave this small link of attribution in the footer. As a matter of fact, you should make a small Paypal donation to him. The link is on his site.

  4. Nice post. Your directions work either way, but the editor is the easiest.
Anyone who can’t follow these directions and get the expected results needs to go back reread AND FOLLOW EXACTLY. It is very simple…

  5. Thank you, Esha! That was the scariest thing I've done on WordPress so far, and it worked the first time! Yay! I wanted to keep the credit line for Sayontan, but there is no other way to include the privacy policy in the footer, unfortunately. If she updates the theme to allow the privacy policy and the credit line, I'd be happy to put them both in my footer. Thanks for a great help article!
